The SK Hynix (formerly Intel) Dalian memory chip project is the company’s primary manufacturing base in China, producing 3D NAND flash and SSDs. Originally owned by Intel, SK Hynix acquired the site in a $9 billion phased buyout, finalized in late 2021. The facility continues to scale production to meet rising memory demands.The SSD unit now operates under the wholly-owned U.S. subsidiary Solidigm. Infrastructure & Investment: Cumulative investment in the site has surpassed USD $14 billion (approx. 100 billion CNY). The complex features three wafer cleanroom factories, with two in operation and a new factory building completed to bolster capacity.
